Larry's band, featuring Joe B on guitar and Mzz Reese as female guest singer, headlined the first annual North Lawndale Arts & Culture Festival in Douglas Park on Aug. 6, 2016.
The festival offered Larry and many other artists, fans, customers and friends a chance to connect across age, ethnic and neighborhood lines. We were blessed with a beautiful day. Here he is with the "West Side blues" square made for Reneau Diallo's N. Lawndale quilt; and with Maxwell Street buddies Vince Johnson, an oldtime street musician; and Peter Pero, author of two histories of Italians in Chicago.
