In the bio/feature film The Rhythm and the Blues, showing at the Pan African Art and Film Fest in L.A. on Feb. 14 and 17, guitar blues legend Eddie Taylor Sr. ( played by Leon) is challenged by a corrupt industry, family drama, and British rockers' appropriation of his music. He fights to prove his genius before the industry discards him. NYC actor/bluesman Guy Davis appears as Jimmy Reed--racked harmonica and all. Toni Belafonte plays Eddie’s songwriting wife Vera. Darryl Pitts is the producer and director. Bonni McKeown wrote the original script based on Larry Taylor's family story, and Larry's music is featured int he film.
